A Toddler and His Trains

Image
Dear blog, I have a toddler that loves all things trains. Thomas and Friends are staple toys in our household. You could even say they are part of our decor since they are everywhere. I've been looking for ways to help with the storage of the trains and I started looking into train tables. About two months ago I bought a train table from Toys R US that turned out to be a drawer; yes just a drawer. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the box and that was the only thing inside. What am I going to do with just a drawer??? To make a long story short, I returned the drawer. Well my train issue wasn't resolved so I was still looking for a train table and I finally found an actual table and for a good price. Let me tell you, train tables are expensive, I'm very thankful I found one at a reasonable price. I found the table on Kohls ' website; the KidKraft Train Play Table . My husband and I didn't find it difficult to assemble it, it took us around 30 minutes. W...

2 States in 2 Days!!

Dear blog, this past weekend was out of the ordinary for us. We don't tend to be spontaneous, at least not with big stuff. Well this weekend was a spontaneous one and man I'm so happy we were. On Saturday we drove to Memphis, TN. I wrote a blog about what we did while we were there, if you are interested. But on Sunday after we had gone to church and eaten our lunch, I got this urge to just go somewhere. Originally I wanted to go to Nashville, TN. I still do, but I felt it would be a long drive. So we ended up driving to Branson, MO. This has been a place I've wanted to visit for the last 8 years and we finally made it happen. We packed up in less than an hour, which is really something when you have kids. Let me tell you trying to pack for two children and yourself is very chaotic. I was bound to forget something. I dragged my parents with us, they weren't thrilled about the short notice. I think they ended up enjoying themselves. We stayed at the Grand Country Water...

Disney Store Saturday Adventure!

Dear blog, with school back in session I don't get to spend much time with my children. I get home close to 4:00 p.m and they usually go to bed around 7:00 p.m. So that gives me around 3 hours with my own children. I've been finding it very difficult that I don't get as much time with them. I feel like I need to be at home with them, teaching them. I try to do as much as I can with them on the weekends. I like going on adventures with them. This weekend we had to go to Memphis TN, to return an item to  Toys R Us so we took advantage of the trip and went shopping at the Disney Store  at  Wolfchase Galleria . I mainly wanted to check if they were having any events today which they were. This whole weekend is going to be focused on Star Wars. I actually wanted to come to their summer events, I just never got around to making the trip. We can't just make the drive to Memphis anytime we want, its quite a drive from our house. I didn't know the stores hosted events until...
