Menstrual Cramps

Image
Dear blog, this may be a little to much information, but it's something I have struggled with for many years. I have always experienced bad menstrual cramps. Every month I would take numerous pain relief pills and none really worked: Midol, didn't even help. My mom did find one pill that helped with the cramps, but they were expensive. Many people told me once I give birth my cramps won't be as bad, well that was not the case. Like I mentioned in some previous blogs I ordered my Young Living Essential Oil Kit and I have decided to try one of the oils for my cramps. I'm using PanAway; I used extra virgin olive oil to dilute. The oils need to be stored in glass containers and honestly I don't have any, so instead I'm using the empty jars of baby food. I put one drop of PanAway and 2 drops of Olive oil, mix it up. Then using my fingers I massage the oils on the areas that hurt. This has helped with my cramps; my cramps have been very manageable. I like that I don...

Day 26, 27, and 28

Image
Dear blog, it has been a rough couple of days. Day 26: I had a job interview so I was nervous all morning and couldn't eat anything. When I got home I did have a cup of coffee. For lunch I had crackers and half a can of tuna. I did have half a burger, but that wasn't that good (hence, why I didn't eat all of it). For a snack I had a Special K Protein bar. Before going to workout I had two bananas. For dinner I had a chocolate milk replacement from Kroger, Slim Rite; it tasted really good. I have been doing some research and it says that it should not be used if trying to diet/lose weight. Before bed I had a cup of tea. Day 27: For breakfast I had this drink that came with my Young Living Essential Oils Kit, this is the Ningxia Red . For a snack, Almond milk, strawberries, and banana smoothie. Lunch was rice, salmon, and some chips. I had a cup of coffee and a couple of bites of pie. Later on I had a turkey sandwich. For a workout I did Zumba. For dinner I had Chinese food...

Young Living Essential Oils Kit

Image
Dear blog, I've been wanting to order the Young Living Essential Oil kit for quite a while, I just couldn't think of spending $175 on something I had never tried. I went to an oil class where I learned different ways to use the oils and learned how beneficial they can be. I hate taking medicine because I don't like the side effects. I caved in and decided to place my order; I was hesitant at first, but went through with it. When my kit arrived I was so excited, but I did not open it. I really considered returning it, it was $175!!! Well I opened the package and I knew I had to keep it, everything looks so cute. I immediately started using the diffuser with the Purification oil. Now that I have tried the products and looked at how much they cost, I have decided it is a great deal.  The kit brought two of these drinks. They didn't taste bad, it was actually delicious. In this box you will find the 10 oils that comes with your kit. Top row: Thieves, Peppermint, ...

Books for May

Dear blog, for the Month of May I have not had any classes, for me it's good and bad. I like having the break, but at the same time I don't. Anyway I decided to do some reading this month; since while I'm taking classes it's a bit more complicated to read for leisure. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott: This book took me about a week to finish. It took me a while to get in to it, it wasn't until page 100 that I didn't want to put the book down. I really did enjoy this book, it had it's funny parts, but also very sad. I highly recommend this book. The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls: They say this book is a memoir. This poor girl certainly lived a tough life. Her parents did not want to work so they had their families moving around, living in dangerous places. It must have taken a lot of courage to leave their parents to live in New York City. Wild by Cheryl Strayed: This was a good book to read, it was an easy read. I read it in three days. This was ...

May Fitness Day 16, 17, 18, and 19

Dear blog, today is a gloomy day which is perfect because it matches how I'm feeling today, sick! I'm still fighting a cold and a throat infection. Also, my baby is sick so it has not been fun. For breakfast all I had was a cup of tea, but it was not your typical tea. I used essential oils from Young Living . This is my first time using essential oils, so far I like it. I have heard so much about oils, I just never decided to invest in it. I recently went to an essential oil class and I was hooked. I immediately asked my husband if I can order my kit and that could be my Mother's Day gift. I'm so glad he said yes. Anyway back to my tea, if you are interested in knowing more/or seeing my kit I will post a blog soon. I boiled some water for a couple of minutes, once it's done I pour it into a mug. I then poured one drop of Thieves essential oil, and 3 drops of lemon essential oil into my mug; I mixed some honey in to make it sweet. I had a really big lunch, I did no...

Dear blog, lately I was looking at items from the Disney store online and I came across this Mickey hat. I really want to buy it and use it in my upcoming graduation. I know it's silly, but it's so cute. I'm hopping to find it this summer when I go to Disney World. Did you decorate your graduation cap? Mickey Mouse Ear Hat Graduation Cap found at the Disney store $21.95.

May Fitness Day 12,13,14, and 15

Dear blog, yesterday was a rough day. My baby was so clingy because he has been sick. I like the clingy part because we get to cuddle; I just don't like the sickness part. I did not get to write my daily fitness update, but it's okay I can do it today. On day 12 I had a breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg, on Ezekial bread). I drank my SkinnyMint Detox tea. For lunch, I had sweet potato, steak, and brown rice. Before going to workout, I had the GNC Lean Shake Burn protein shake. Drinking this shake has really improved my workout experience. I have more energy and don't feel weak. This has been something I have struggled with for several years. While working out, I get light headed and often faint, and it happened when I first started boot camp. I was determined to stick to the boot camp and was not going to let that get in the way so I decided to try the shake and it worked great. If you struggle with this as well, try a protein shake before your workout. For dinner I had a ...

May Fitness Day 11

Dear blog, today is Monday and it's boot camp day! I'm so excited, I love doing it. For breakfast I had my SkinnyMint detox tea with a breakfast sandwich (Ezekial bread, egg, and bacon). For lunch I had a steak, with brown rice, and a banana. For my snack, bbq chips my instructor gave me. Before workingout, I had a protein shake; I use the Lean Shake Burn from GNC . I mix two scoops with water. For my workout, I went to boot camp; I love it and went for a walk after with my son. I was pretty full after workout so I just had some yogurt.

May Fitness Day 6,7,8,9,10

Dear blog, I know I'm a little behind on updating you on my process. On weekdays I always remember to drink my SkinnyMint detox tea, but during the weekend not so much. On Thursday I went to boot camp, it was hard. My body was hurting from my workout on Tuesday, but I love it. I have never been so motivated and happy to workout as I am now that I'm trying the boot camp. For dinner this day I did not make the right choice in food, things did not go as planned so we had to resort to an easy food, PIZZA. I'm not proud of it. On Saturday I also had pizza, I had a girls night with my friend; we watched movies and ate pizza, lol. For Mother's Day, my husband took me to Outback Steakhouse (so good, I love this place). I had a bloomin' onion (this is a given, you can't go to Outback without having this), steak, mixed vegetables, and cheesecake. I actually had the promotion they offered for the holiday. I love this place, they have awesome food: my favorite meal is the...

It's all about that Pink!!

Image
Dear blog, today is Mother's Day, what a wonderful day!! I had such an amazing time with my husband and son. I would have liked to celebrate my first official Mother's Day with my mom and grandma, but it's okay. Today, I woke up to text messages saying "Happy Mother's Day" so I quickly started to respond and went on Facebook to say the same to all my friends who are mom's. As I was getting ready for church my husband hid my gift in the diaper bag, he took the bag to "get it ready". Before going to church I forgot that I needed to take some more things for the baby so I had to open the diaper bag. Guess what I found in there?? My mother's day gift! As soon as I saw the box, I knew what it was. But I was in total shock when I actually opened it; it was a rose gold Coach watch from Dillard's!! Yes, I wanted the watch, but it was not the one I saw in the store. I showed him a silver watch with the pink face. He did so good because the one he...

Massage Envy Spa

Dear blog, about two months ago my husband surprised me with a visit to  Massage Envy Spa . This was the first time I have ever received a professional massage. I must admit, I was incredibly nervous because I did not know what to expect or what to do in this situation. At first I had to complete some forms with questions on where I would like the masseur to focus and places I am comfortable with him touching. Once that was done I was given a small tour of the facility, which I thought was really nice. Then I was told to wait in a waiting area comfy chairs and soft relaxing music playing in the background. Waiting around was making me even more anxious. I asked friends if they had ever had a massage and if they liked it. My friends tried to calm my nerves, but it didn't really help. Finally, my massage therapist introduced himself and led me to the room. He talked to me for a bit, explaining what he was going to be doing, what I could expect. He got out so I could change. I was in ...

Run Disney

Dear blog, something I would like to accomplish is the Disney Princess 5K or Disney Enchanted 10K run at Walt Disney World. Both events are run in the Epcot Park, how awesome is that!? I want to go next year; February 18-20. I'm not sure if next year will be possible, but if not next year then certainly the year after that. There are two reasons standing in my way of this goal/accomplishment: money and not prepared. Not only do I need to pay for the run I need to pay for travel expenses from Arkansas to Orlando. Price for Disney 5K ranges from $65-$75, and Enchanted from $110-$140. The second reason is I'm going to need to start running again. Disney has a pacing time that must be kept, I need to practice based on this pacing. I've been wanting to do this for some time now and I will do it no matter what. I will make this happen. I love visiting the Disney Parks so I will love being able to run one of the parks and best of all is having all of the characters there cheering ...

Day 5 May Fitness

Dear blog Today, for breakfast, I had a piece of toast and one egg with my detox tea from SkinnyMint . For lunch I had a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich. For a snack I ate a Special K granola bar and an apple. I went for a walk before my boot camp class. WOW!! That was intense, but I loved it, I have a great instructor, he helps us stay motivated. He jokes around to keep the mood positive, and plays awesome music. I loved that I got to workout to Pitbull songs, if you have been reading my blogs for a while now, you will know that I'm a huge Pitbull fan. For dinner I had a 12 inch turkey breast sandwich from Subway on whole wheat bread, I had some chips with; it not many. To drink I had water. I've tried many forms of working out, but never a boot camp so I'm hopping I will see some results and I actually stay motivated through this new experience. By the way I'm so happy to say that I finished these two classes with A's!!!

Disney World

Image
Dear blog, I love Disney movies and Disney parks. I recently signed up for the Disney Movie Club again and I’m so glad I did. Now, with a child, I felt that it was appropriate to start collecting more Disney movies, I’m missing several. I really want The Lion King movies; first, because it’s a really good movie, and second because it’s my baby’s nursery theme. I also, needed the Finding Nemo movie because that’s the theme I’m doing for his 1st birthday. If you are a Disney fanatic, I recommend you become a member of this club, it’s really worth it. By signing up we got 6 movies for $21. That is the cost of only one movie and not to mention they were all Blu-Ray. There is a contract but it’s not a bad one, you have two years to buy 4 movies at original price which I don’t mind because there are many Disney movies coming out that my husband and I like. I’m so excited because we have a family trip planned for Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom; for my baby’s first birthday. I know he is ...

Day 3 and 4 of May Fitness

Dear blog, in this post I'm going to include day 3 and day 4. Yesterday I was sick the whole day. My body was aching so badly, I couldn't even make it to church, so I just slept. I didn't workout. For breakfast/lunch I had a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, a doughnut. For a snack, I had half a blueberry doughnut and a cookie. For dinner, I had a ham and cheese sandwich with chips. Let's just say not the best choices in food :(. I also, drank water and two cups of tea. Well good thing I have a new day to do things differently and make better choices. So far for breakfast I had a piece of toast on Ezekiel bread (I absolutely love this bread), with some peanut butter and SkinnyMint Detox tea. For lunch I had one piece of bread with half a can of tuna. My husband surprised me with Chinese food so I ate that as well. Around 5:45 we walked/ran for about 30 minutes. We came back home, I had an apple, peach, and mango juice (not the best combination). I went to th...

May Fitness Day 2

Dear blog, today we went to the track near our house to workout. We began by walking to the track and stretching once we got there. We walked around the track once, before running. I ran a whole lap; as I was beginning the second, my one of my shoe laces came untied and I had to stop. That threw me out of my grove so I just walked. I ran stairs as my husband finished running. I had a rough time doing the stairs, but I'll get better at it. Today I did not eat breakfast because I woke up not feeling well. For lunch we went to Sumo Japanese Stake House: I had a soup, sushi, rice, chicken, and vegetables. After that, we went to the mall to walk off our meal and we always have to stop at Starbucks. I had a green tea frapuccino with no whipped creme. I love this drink. For dinner, I had three pieces of pizza and right now I'm having my Detox tea. I hope you all have enjoyed this amazing weekend and spent time exercising your body.

Books for the month of April

Dear blog, this month I have read two John Green books; Paper Towns and The Fault in our Stars . Both books were good, definitely the romance novels I've been in the mood to read. I highly recommend both of these, but prepare yourself to cry like a baby in The Fault in our Stars I could not stop crying towards the end and if you want to know why you need to read it. I have not watched "The Fault in our Stars" movie; I'm hopping it comes out on Redbox soon. One that is not a favorite for this month is The Longest Ride by Nicholas Spark. My goodness, I did not like this book. No romance, very dry. Also, it felt rushed towards the end. The story was very predictable and I felt like I was reading two different books, since the book was going back and forth between Sophia/Luke and Ira. I'm hopping the movie is better.

May Fitness

Dear blog, I'm still working on my weight loss journey. I have not being doing too well. I have decided to join the gym near my house and take some yoga classes. I feel like I need to try this to see if I stay motivated and see results. I have the month of May off from school; no classes. I'm not a fan of getting a break, but oh well. I'm going to use this month as my fitness month since I have no extra distractions. This month, I'm also trying the SkinnyMint tea detox. I will write a review at the end of each day describing what exercises I performed and the food I ate. On the 15th I will give a half way point update. At the end of the month I will post any results I have. I hope you will enjoy it.
