Aulani Disney Hawaii Resort

Image
Dear blog,
I still have about two months of school remaining, but I'm already on vacation mode. Now all of my vacation ideas are really expensive and take months of  planning so I don't think I will be going anywhere this year :(. Since we became Disney Vacation Club members, one of the places I want to visit is Aulani: A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii. Hawaii has always been on my bucket list of places to visit, but it wasn't until Disney opened their resort there that I have actually started to plan the trip. My original plan was to go next year for my tenth wedding anniversary. I felt this would be the perfect family vacation to celebrate the start of our family. The more we crunch the numbers I don't see it happening for our 10 year anniversary, but I still have hope!!! Now I do have to say I like going on vacation with my parents, siblings, and nephews. I just want to share these experiences with them as well, so we have been looking at staying in the Oahu Lux…

April: Disney Store Picks

Image
Dear blog,
I love browsing the Disney Store online to new items. Don't get me wrong, I want to own everything already!!!! I've mentioned in past blogs that the birthday theme for my daughter is The Little Mermaid, I was stoked when I found that some of their new arrivals are mermaid related :).

As I mentioned, I would love to own every item, but for the sake of this post, I chose my 5 top picks.

My first pick is this Ariel "Mermaid" Spirit Jersey in sea green color and metallic ombre letters on the back and mermaid on the front. I don't own a jersey like this and I feel like this would be perfect for the birthday party. I love everything about it from the color to the design.

My second pick is this Flounder Novelty Cup, which is adorable. I love collection mugs/cups: this will be a great addition to my collection. It looks like it could be child friendly; my daughter will love it, she loves drinking from a straw. This will be a cute cup for her collection :).

Toddler's Disney Store Pick's

Image
Dear blog,
I thought it would be interesting to write a blog about my son and daughter's pick from the Disney Store. Right now, they are on a Puppy Dog Pals kick and Legos for my son. Netflix doesn't stream Puppy Dog Pals, so we are streaming it through our Hulu account. It's nice to have a Hulu Live account because it will stream new episodes and live shows, which is a major plus! If you are a parent and your child watches Puppy Dog Pals then you can relate to horrible theme song getting stuck in your head. I catch myself singing the song while I'm at work. I'm pretty sure my students think I'm crazy lol.

My son will be starting preschool soon, which is killing me on the inside. I can't believe that he is old enough to start preschool. I can't even talk about it. We have been talking to him about starting school and how he will need a backpack to carry his things. He is actually enthusiastic about school which is nice. I've been showing him backpac…

Classroom Life: Science Experiments & Presentations

Image
Dear blog,
It's getting closer and closer to the end of the school year and I still have so much to teach my students. I give them as much knowledge as possible. I want them to be ready to tackle the next grade. I want them to start the next school year with confidence and the way to do that is to expose them to as many techniques and experiences that I can. I'm always changing my mind about what I want to do. I want to make it as engaging as possible. I've learned that one of the best way to keep them engaged is to have them work on their laptop, which is completely different than how I want to learn, lol.

I've recently completed my unit on animals. We talked about animal structures and functions and how these things help them survive. Biology is one of my favorite topics to teach, there are so many things we can learn about our world :).

Here is one of the activities that we completed. I used a lesson from the book Even More Picture Perfect, Unbeatable Beaks and the …

Disney's Magic Kingdom Dining Experience

Image
Dear blog,
I've visited Disney World many times during my life. Ob my family's first couple of trips we didn't eat in the park; we thought it was too expensive, so we usually ate breakfast at a buffet to make sure we were full before heading to the park. At the park we always chose the cheapest we could find on. But, when I was younger, I wasn't worried about trying all of the restaurants, I was just thankful to be at Disney World. Coming from Cuba, a third world country without the basic luxuries of American life, I was just in awe of the magic. The park that I have visited the most is Magic Kingdom, which is my favorite! Now that I'm older, and have an appreciation for good food, I want to talk about the amazing food options at the park. Now, these options are more expensive than restaurants outside the parks, but the quality almost always justify the price. So, here is the review of my family's favorite dining experiences.

Disney Cruise Fantasy Vacation

Image
Dear blog,
I have never been on a cruise. I have made plans to go in the past, but it hasn't worked out. Either we haven't had the money or I was pregnant. But I have always wanted my first cruise experience to be a Disney Cruise. I've heard so many good things about them, I have to go on one. The ship that I would like to go on is Dream Fantasy.

There are so many features of this ship that I like. It has six pools!!! A Mickey pool with Mickey's face on the floor. Also, it has a water slide for the kids to slide down into the pool. There are some quick-service choices by the pool. They all sound very yummy; Tow Mater's Grill serves burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders etc. Luigi's Pizza offers a variety of toppings that we all love. Fillmore's Favorites includes wraps, salads, and fruit; it is certainly the healthier option. There are two more places with ice creams and smoothies; Eye Scream Treats and Frozone Treats. Donald's pool has a portrait of Donal…
