Petunia Pickle Bottom

Image
Dear blog,  One of my go to brands for keeping my baby essentials organized is, you guessed it,  Petunia Pickle Bottom . They offer so many different colors, prints, and styles. All of the products I currently own are from the different Disney collections; I love all of them. They seemed to have thought of every need a parent might have; from the simplest item such as holding the baby's pacifier to a breast pump bag. I love their products because they are comfortable to use, easy to clean, and stylish. I have a few of their pieces, but I have included more in my baby's Christmas list.  All of the Disney prints are absolutely beautiful: they have Mickey Mouse , Minnie Mouse , Winnie the Pooh , Pixar , Cinderella ,  Snow White , Peter Pan , The Little Mermaid , Beauty and the Beast , Disney Princess , and they recently launched The Child . I own the Method backpack in the Whimsical Belle print. This is the perfect size for me. This backpack is lightweight, which makes it easy t

Practical Items with a Newborn

Image
Dear blog,  Since this is not our first child, we decided to keep things practical. Plus, we thought we were done with babies so we needed a lot of the basics. But let me tell you, things have changed drastically since the last time I had a child: the PRICES, the QUALITY, the STYLES. I was overwhelmed with shopping for the various things we needed; and I love shopping. We also live in a much smaller place, there is no room for the dedicated baby area. We only have two rooms and two older kids to fill one of those, so the baby's crib has to be in our room. Without realizing it, I put a mini crib on our registry (I NEVER thought it was a full size crib). I chose that particular crib because it came with an attached changing table and drawers. So in my mind, it was great because it brought the different features that work in our favor. Fast forward to when we put the crib together; I cried because it was so small. The drawers are tiny so they don't hold much. The mattress I got fr

Where have I been?

Dear blog,  It has been a hot minute since I posted something. But, what can I say, life has a way of throwing us for a loop. The song that currently describes my life is Thomas Rhett's Life Changes . Nine months ago I found out I was pregnant with my third child! Yeah, you read that right; THIRD!!! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be pregnant again; especially not after the last time being so traumatizing and my husband getting a vasectomy. FUN FACT of the day fact, a vasectomy can reverse itself after 7 years. So be careful if you are relying on one to be your permanent birth control. 1 in every 200 isn't permanent, and my husband had to be that 1. Was it easy to process, no. I cried myself to sleep for several months. I was scared about what happened last time and I didn't want that to happen again. I have no idea how we could afford another child, things are not the same as they were seven years ago. Everything is way more expensive now and the scarcity o

Book Review: A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow by Laura Taylor Namey

Dear blog, I have used my Christmas break as a way to relax and indulge in some reading. Since the start of the school year I haven't been able to dedicate much time to reading, but school breaks are perfect for cuddling up with a good book. UsuallyI read once everyone goes to bed and the house is quiet. I can easily get lost in a book for hours which works out because I don't have to wake up as early :). I usually prefer having physical copies of the books I read; I especially like to collect cute covers (I mean who wouldn't); but in reality at the moment I don't have any places to store my books. Honestly, my house has been over taken by toys and clothes. So, I've been reading books through the Kindle app or checking out an ebook from the public library.  This book hits very close to home for me because I had some similarities with the main character: she was Cuban, lived in Miami, and she had lost someone she loved. So, I was immediatly interested in how the stor

Our Last Days in Barcelona by Chanel Cleeton

Image
Dear blog,  I have had the pleasure to read the latest book by Chanel Cleeton. Her newest addition to the Perez's sister story did not disappoint; I was hooked the entire time. Our Last Days in Barcelona was set in Barcelona, but it still has the Cuba nostalgia that keeps me coming back. This book follows the life of three different women, but Chanel does an amazing job of tying all three stories together in a wonderful and romantic way.  Here is an excerpt of the book. I hope this makes you want your own copy; you will not regret it!!! Go grab your copy today on Amazon  or Barnes and Noble . Happy reading! OUR LAST DAYS IN BARCELONA by Chanel Cleeton Berkley Trade Paperback Original | On Sale May 24, 2022 Excerpt   As I sit on the flight from Palm Beach to Barcelona, wondering what possessed me to embark on this misguided adventure, it's the look in Nicholas Preston's eyes from our conversation a few days earlier that I remember most. There was no doubt that this was wha

The Bodyguard by Katherine Center

Image
Dear blog,  I had the opportunity to read The Bodyguard by Katherine Center. It's set for releasee July 19, 2022. I couldn't control my emotions as I read. There was so much laughing, but I also held my breath as the story captivated me. This was such a fun read that I could not put the book down. I read the entire thing in a day; well, I had to stay up past my bed time to finish it, but please don't tell my husband.  I was really invested in Hannah Brooks' life. She doesn't look like the type of person that could kill someone with a wine bottle opener, but looks can be deceiving. Her job is to provide protection to those who need it. The story starts with terrible events in Hannah's life from her mother's death to her boyfriend ending their relationship! Understandably, she wanted to get away from the world, but that is not the plan her boss Glenn has for her. He puts her in charge of the protection detail for the famous and irresistible actor, Jack Staplet

Disney World Adventures

Dear blog,  This past year has been a whirlwind. We all went into this year with 20/20 hindsight and making huge plans which is fine, but we were soon hit with the realization that this year was going to be different than expected. The last time we got to go to Disney World was in February and we were excited and couldn't wait to back, but our plans had to be put on pause. We had trips planned out for March, April, and May. And each got cancelled due to Corona. We finally got to plan our July trip and it did not come at an easy cost. It was very difficult trying to stay updated with all of the changes being done by Disney. We kept hearing about a new system to be bale to make reservation to get into the park which is wild because we thought since we were annual passholder we would have assess. Which it wasn't easy because we had to be very conscious of where we wanted to visit just to make sure we would have a reservation. I mean this process was absolutely horrible, but our mi
